Comprehensive Plan public meeting

nfld_blueprint_logo.gifAt tonight’s ‘Blueprint’ meeting at the Armory, there was a brief presentation on what was learned at the “Community Choices” meeting on April 3rd. (See the full PDF report here.)

Participants then roamed to 12 different stations for 45 minutes to submit written comments on the proposed 12 development principles for Northfield.

Then open mic followed for another 45 minutes. The photo album for the evening includes snapshots of the posters for the 12 development principles.

Here’s a new way to view the photos. Drag the slider to adjust the speed of the scrolling. Click on any photo to see the larger version.

    Hey Griff:

Pretty cool widget you attached to this post. Thanks for covering the event.

I counted the room just as Lee Lansing and Dixon Bond were giving their Latin Lesson. I counted 112 and people were still coming in. I just talked to another attendee who counted 134 people. It was a good turn-out and we got great input.

But there’s still more opportunities to give input. You can go to http://www.northfieldplan.org, you can call Dan Olson at City Hall, or you can attend one of the board or commission meetings, which are posted on ci.northfield.mn.us.

Thanks to everyone who has participated so far. We’re united by our love of Northfield.

Ross, the Northfield News says there were 80 people in attendance. That’s quite a discrepancy.

    Comp plan meeting attracts 80

    Griff:

I can only report my count and the count that someone else shared with me. The second count was taken after mine.

In typical Northfield style, a large portion of the audience arrived a few minutes late. Perhaps the News’ count was taken a few minutes before the meeting began.

That’s quite an interesting blog post that Bruce Morlan has written:

    He’s looking for comments.

    Griff:

It is a very thoughtful blog post by Bruce. I especially responded to his comment about the dialogue being conducted in public.
