IMG_3648_1000.jpgAnother spectacular night for downtown Northfield last night.

This made me homesick! We stayed up until midnight (six hours earlier than Northfield’s midnight) outside of the bookstore in Kenilworth, England, with a pathetic little crowd of damp, shivering strangers. It looks like Northfield really knows how to throw a Harry Potter party.

Rob, it was spectacular. I especially appreciated Carleton’s donation of the big screen (they evidently has one use of it left on their rental contract).

Last night, many people were musing on how we could do more outdoor movie-showing events downtown… a version of an outdoor drive-in movie theater, only walk-in. I think it was Keith Covey who wondered if a movie could be projected onto the side of the Ames Mill over the Cannon River.

So when you return in a couple weeks, maybe you can organize that!

Thanks to Sue Hvistendahl for sending me a photo of the human chess game and two others. I’ve included them in my album.

Amazing collection of photos, Griff, as always. Thank you, too, for mentioning RCBlog’s coverage.

FYI: I have added a link to your gallery and I have embedded a slideshow in my post. Sorry for being so tardy on both counts. Sleep has been in short supply. Not that I’m in any way complaining! I’ll happily trade Zs for a night like that one in downtown Northfield.

    Thanks to all who participated.

You’re welcome, TS. Kudos to you and all the folks at River City Books who worked so hard to put the event together.

Dad, when you view the slide show on the main page is messed up a bit. The vertical pictures arn’t flipped. even so they are way to the side, so you only see a little chunk of them
