I've been unable to follow the Comp Plan in any detail due to the fact that the Rice County Feedlot Ordinance is being updated. Changes to the setback of large feedlots to city limits or urban expansion zones could impact future city planning.

At the public information meeting at Forest Township Hall the night of Sept. 12, Zoning Director Julie Runkel led the audience through the proposed changes. She said setbacks are still "up in the air." Setbacks will be on the agenda for Nfld City Council on Sept. 17, I understand--only one day ahead of comment deadline of Sept. 18 to the Rice County Planning and Zoning Office.

The County Board will be working on their draft ordinance at their meeting Sept. 25. The public hearing is expected to be end of Oct/early November. Grif, could you add a feedlot discussion topic to this blog?
