Bridge Square carleton-weather-sshot

Left: a photo of Bridge Square this morning at 6:02, showing a temp of -16 F on the First National Bank Northfield’s new time/temp sign under a nearly full moon. That’s slightly colder than it was last weekend, according to Carleton’s weather database.

Homework: when has it been colder recently?

    Griff -

Good thing there are always so many civic, cultural and social activities, gatherings, and opportunities in town to help warm up a cold night.

This winter is wonderful - no sarcasm or irony intended.

Last winter: Brown (grass), gray (sky), dull (weather and mood).

This winter: Blue (sky), white (SNOW!), bright (weather and mood).

Yes, it’s cold, but I can cross country ski in the Arb (an activity which warms ya right up - I’m heading out in just a few minutes), my dogs love to romp in the snow, and there are a variety of snowpersons and snow creatures around town. Besides, coffee and hot chocolate taste even better after playing in the snow.

So you weather wimps just huddle inside, but I’ll be outside smiling and enjoying every minute of our white, bright winter.

It’s bike riding weather. I rode through the arb yesterday and it was beautiful.

Thanks, Jane… but it’s too blurry. Watch out, tho. I just ordered a Canon G9 this week. Closest thing to a digital SLR but still compact enough to pack on my hip.
