Fabulous photos, as always, Griff!! Every town in America should be jealous of our downtown and all those gorgeous babes who support local businesses–the majority of which are owned and managed by women.

By the way, the “I love downtown Northfield” buttons that you saw on many of the GNO babes and babies (particularly cute photo!) are being sold as a fundraiser for the NDDC. Only $1, and available at Present Perfect now; other locations soon.

  2. I wish I had remembered this. Instead I sat home and got an idea to promote community that will rock this town. Here it is…

We close off all parking for as many streets as it takes.
We get people to bring folding tables and chairs and line them up,
end to end, so that people can actually sit down and meet
    their fellow NFers.

Then, we serve locally grown and prepared food. No set menu,
I think that would be asking too much. But, each six tables get a
serving table where by number people would be assigned to eat from
    and drop off food at.

The point is to get as many people involved and as many tables linked
together over as many streets as we can. I am looking for 500 tables.

Or, just put The Taste of Northfield on your calendar NOW! Thursday, June 19th from 5-11pm. It’s going to be a great evening with food provided by local restaurants, a beer and wine tent, a raid reenactment, auction, and a street dance with music provided by over and back. This event has grown bigger and better each year–this year we expect 3000 people.

  4. Alright, I’ll be there, taste buds and all. Can I bring my dog?

Girls Night Out II was a smashing success, IMHO. What a great time to shop local and meet new people you might not typically see in your everyday routine. Congrats to all the hard working volunteers, business owners, and Grand service staff for pulling off another great time.

I had shopped around for over an hour without buying anything; then, when I called my sig-o to check in, he reminded me that “Bush wants you to stimulate the economy–go buy something.” So I did, and it’s great.

We received this email from Mary Hahn:

I have heard through the grape vine that I have been “dissed” for allegedly not helping to choreograph the men’s strip tease for girls’ night out. Is this correct? If yes, please correct the record ASAP. I jumped at the opportunity to choreograph this dance for the guys. I would have made these guys look GOOD, too! I told Dan Freeman to get the men together, let me know a time date, and I am there! I never got a call. Does no good deed go unpunished? I have heard from several sources that a few guys think I bailed. When I commit, I never bail. Let’s get the news right, gentlemen. A retraction would be nice….

So even though it doesn’t appear that this scurrilous rumor was started or posted on LG, I thought I’d do Mary a favor by letting her set the record straight!

I’ll have an upate from Ally in a few days on how much $ GNO was able to contribute to WINGS.

And thanks to Susan Hvistendahl for submitting the photo of Patty Cash.
