After Girls Night Out (GNO) 2008, volunteer Ally Beyer emailed me that:

… we raised $1500 for the WINGS group. We are so excited about the outcome of this year’s event! We had almost twice the amount of women as last year. It was fantastic! Also, the committee loves what WINGS is about and we have decided to donate to WINGS every year.

More info and a photo of the GNO donation to WINGS posted to the N.org blog by Joan Behr.

I have to say that there is something so powerful about being at an event where there are so many women coming together to do good work. To look around the room and see what is happening in this community in so many areas was inspiring.

I know for HOPE Center, as a grant recipient, it was wonderful to be a part of the luncheon, but more importantly to be around others who are commited to service and to making Northfield a safer, healthier, happier place to be.

After living out of state for the past seven years, events like these make me so proud to say “You betcha, I’m a Minnesotan” :).
