Griff:

I see from the Earth Day schedule in the Northfield News that at 2 pm on Sunday, Mayor Lee Lansing, Carleton President Rob Oden and Carleton Vice President Fred Rogers are going to speak on sustainability successes and goals. Perhaps one of the goals will be reducing carbon emissions in Northfield.

I see in today's Strib South Blog
http://www.startribune.com/blogs/south/?p=13
that "Eagan, Burnsville and Apple Valley have already signed on to the U.S. Mayor’s Climate Protection agreement, which has the stated goal of reducing carbon emissions in their communities."

Has there been a similar effort here in Northfield?

great video of the turbine construction. St. Olaf is trying to become the greenest campus in the country. Turbine, composter, Stogrow etc. Pete Sandberg said they could put up more turbines in the future. I don't know if they are considering it, but the option is there if needed. I think Jim Farrell may be writing a book about the greening of the campus.

Saint Olaf's green webpage may be the best of any school's in the country. As a carleton student, it has been really exciting to see what they're doing.

I don't know how many of you saw this, but there was this post on treehugger a while ago about saint olaf and carleton's green rivalry:
