Citizen Run Planning Session

NoMoreOfThis.jpgNext Tuesday, May 15th, from 7 to 9 pm, the City of Northfield and the Northfield Planning Commission are hosting an open house on our progress on the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance revision process so far. The event will be held at the Northfield Armory. You are all invited.

In a radical break from Northfield’s tradition, there will be no consultants. Instead, we will have “stations” set up for each of the 12 proposed Principles that will guide the revision process. These stations will be staffed by current and former members of the Planning Commission and City Council. You may visit and comment on each Principle as you wish.

When this station-based process of gathering input on the 12 Principles is completed, there will be an additional opportunity of an “open mic”. Those citizens who prefer verbally communicating their ideas can make comments on matters of concern at that time.

This is an opportunity to insure that your values are included in the planning and implementing of Northfield’s future. We, the Northfield Planning Commission, urge you to attend.
