Locally Grown: episode for week of 11.20.2006

This week’s episode has been put together with chewing gum and bailing wire. On Monday I interviewed Bianca Lutchen, pictured at left with Mathias Bell, our show’s producer. She’s a senior at Northfield High School and is in Ron Nuebel’s Political Economics class which has taken on the task of hosting next Monday’s League of Women Voter‘s 4th Monday forum, 7 pm at the Library. The topic: Northfield’s teen curfew. I couldn’t find info about the event on the LWV weblog but Anne Bretts has a post about it on Northfield.org. Bianca is also a member of the Mayor’s Youth Council (which doesn’t seem to have a page on the City of Northfield’s web site).

On Wednesday, Ross, Tracy and I recorded the rest of our show at the James Gang HideAway since KRLX is off the air for their annual winter break. Most of our discussion focused on the rental ordinance dispute. We also discussed the proposed ethanol plant but alas, I neglected to pay attention to my digital recorder’s battery level and that discussion has been lost to what’s left of the ozone layer. We’ll revisit the issue in an upcoming show.

Click play to listen (29 minutes). (The interview with Bianca starts at the 16:30 mark.) You can also subscribe to the podcast feed using your podcatcher of choice, or subscribe with iTunes.
