Cannon River floodwaters: no contest compared to 2004

I saw a guy wading hip deep across the floodwaters at the footbridge below the Hwy 19 Lyman Lakes dam yesterday afternoon. Alas, I didn’t get there in time to take his photo. The ‘lake’ is covering most of Laird Field.

Hey Griff -

There’s water on the land side of the flood wall west of the pedestrian bridge. The river looks a foot short of the wall under that wsame bridge, but clearly the water has gotten through.

Down near the Second Street bridge, it’s completely flooded…

…and it’s raining.

So, I guess I’m suggesting that it’s too early to shut down your “contest”.

You’re right, Ross. I took some photos at 6 pm this evening and I was surprised to see how much the river was up since yesterday. There’s rain hovering to our south at 8 pm tonight so maybe….
