We Iz Men Uh Ackshun

RealMenRead.jpgWhen Kiffi Summa suggests that we Men of Northfield are passing the time by lying around eating bonbons, apparently in a sugar induced stupor, I must declare, “It is not so”.

We fine specimens of Northfield Manliness are constantly striving for the betterment of ourselves, our friends and families, and our communities.

Taking her thesis that Bruce Morlan is “the most erudite of all” as a direct challenge to my Northfield Manhood (he is of DUNDAS, after all), and responding quickly and vigorously to Jerry Bilek’s offer of Anthony Everitt’s biography of Cicero, I wasted no time in advancing to Monkey See, Monkey Read and obtaining the aforementioned book.

Oh, prepare ye Bruce of Dundas, for a challenge on your knowledge of Cicero…in the very near future. And prepare ye Kiffi of the Westside, to reconsider your rankings of the most erudite in the Valley of the Cannon.

We Men of Northfield are not to be taken lightly…or, sometimes, too seriously.

    Hey Kiffi:

Perhaps I find reading good books and promoting downtown businesses to be as news-worthy as HEROIN IN THE STREETS and HI-JINKS AT CITY HALL.

But then, I’m not the Strib or the News..

  3. If I may wax poetic …

My good friend Ross Currier has become the courier of incorrect information. Perhaps his attempts at levity have left him bereft of the gravitas necessary to sustain open debate, so he begins by the simple utterance of minor falsehoods. I present for your consideration his claim that I am of Dundas (a word he utters as if it were an imprecation). It is well known to all that while I love and work for the betterment of Dundas as chair of its planning commission, the simple and verifiable consequence of geography is that I am of Bridgewater township, and am only honored with the opportunity to serve the noble city of Dundas as a result of its highly advanced leadership in forming a powerful and forward looking alliance with the township of Bridgewater. I am certain, however, that Ross will find the error of his data in the books he loves so well. Might I suggest starting with the Rice County website (one o’ them thar newfangled online publications)?

    Dundas, Bridgewater…whatever…

…aren’t they both wooded lands beyond the gates of civilization?

I’ll possibly be reconsidering eruditious qualities of Men of the Cannon Valley WHEN I get the requested statistics from these supposed “Men uh Ackshun”.

I could also consider any other evaluations……………
