Has the Commission been effective? If not, what needs to be done?

I am amazed at how many people don’t know how to parallel park correctly, but I guess driver’s ed was a long time ago for most of us. Perhaps our parking quality control commission should hold a motor vehicle rodeo/parking competition downtown some Thursday evening and raise money for something good--more bike rack--instead of just complaining about offenders. I read a couple of weeks ago in the Star-Trib about the annual bus rodeo at the fairgrounds, and it sounded like fun. We don’t encourage drivers to improve until we send them to the “55-alive classes at the Sr. Center so that they can keep their insurance rates low. Maybe Jim Gleason could bring down some big green trucks for us to try on an obstacle course. Big rig day for adults!

right you are Mary. I see people in front of my store give it 3 tries than bolt to a roomier spot. One person just missed the tree in front of my store. It is at least 2 feet in from the curb.
