According to my yearbook, my class’s prom theme song was “Up Where We Belong,” which reminds me of why I did not attend my HS prom.

The really scary part is that it would’ve been performed by the covers band “Pegasus II,” a band notable only for the fact that one of the Physics teachers played keyboards.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m putting the playlist together for Art Prom from my collection and I’m happy to say that I’ve got most - if not all - of these requests and plenty of prom classics from the 80s and 90s, too. Trying to offer an equal opportunity prom here.

I don’t think this is “geezer” stuff. Many young people today are listening to classic rock’n'roll. Geezers are only those who *feel* old — and no one feels old on (Art) Prom night! Remember?

I’d share my sad, poignant story of senior prom - but let’s just say that my 25th high school reunion more than made up for it.
