Photo album: NHS student vs. faculty basketball game; fund raiser for Middle School teacher John Bade, teacher of the year finalist

In last week’s Nfld News, reporter Jeff Wold has this story: Playing for cancer: Students face faculty in a benefit for John Bade.

Bade, who turns 48 this month, is a teacher at Northfield Middle School. He was recently nominated as one of 10 finalists in Minnesota for the Teacher of the Year Award. Back on Jan. 18, everything changed in Bade’s life.

Bade was interviewed for a March 5 Strib South Section article, Candidates say teaching can be its own reward (Strib photo in insert):

john badeQ Why do you teach middle school?

A In college, I said that middle school was one place I would never teach. It’d be totally crazy.

After doing it once, I just fell in love with it.

It’s just so high energy, and they invigorate my life.

I plan to attend tonight’s game and post photos here when I return. Thanks to Curt Benson, Fab Lab, for the alert.

11 pm update:  See the photo album of tonight’s game or this slideshow of 4 dozen photos:
