Barack, my cardboard buddy

Mike Herndon

I had Mike Herndon, manager at Echo Used DVD’s & Games, pose with their cardboard cutout of Barack Obama yesterday.

They’re selling them for $29.99.

Alas, no plans for a John McCain cutout.

FYI, Kerri and Scott Houfer opened their store last November, blogged here.

What? No cardboard cutout of McCain? Perhaps that’s because his positions are complex and not just platitudes? ;-)

More seriously, maybe his supporters are not as much into a cult of personality. Though next week may prove me wrong. But I am sure we won’t hear too many people weeping with emotion over him.

Listening to the post-speech comments last night makes me wonder if having Obama as a viable candidate will mark the beginning of the end of our long self-doubts about our society. I hope so.

    I’ve got Obama action figures:

    McCain should be here soon.

I saw someone walking in a parade with that cardboard Obama.

Hey, is this our Jeff Johnson (KYMN)? If it is, maybe they’ll do a cardboard of him, too.

bottom of page. Says Jeff Johnson is running for Hennepin County Commissioner. If it isn’t our Jeff, it is a Jeff look-alike.

No, our Jeff Johnson is much better looking. See him pictured on page 2 of the September Northfield Entertainment Guide, now available all over town.

oh, thanks Susan. It’s too bad, we could have said we knew a Hennepin County Commish. If it were our Jeff, he’d surely win. You know, with that “Jeff Johnson” voice.
