He wasn’t named in the layoffs article in the Northfield News last week, News eliminates two supervisor positions, but Tim Freeland was their Advertising Manager. I got this email from Tim today:
Subject: Good news. I’ve accept a job as VP of Sales Operations at KYMN radio
Dear Friends and Family!
Thank you all for your emails, employment prospects, prayers and well wishes. Thanks to my friend and new boss, Jeff Johnson, I will start working as VP of Sales Operations next Monday at KYMN radio here in Northfield. This is a dream opportunity. I just can’t sit still for very long. Please have a look at a the complete description of the changes in my professional life as well as changes coming at KYMN!!
Congrats, Tim… glad you landed on your feet.
way to go Tim. was that even one week
Thanks Jerry. I am very fortunate. It only took a few days, but I had been dropping hints with Jeff for years. 🙂
Tim,
What great News!
You were one of the Northfield News, “finest”. Responsive, dedicated, funny…What a major loss for them. I have always enjoyed working with you. Good for you and Good for KYMN!
How exciting!
Char
You ” Betcha”…. it’s cold here too. Snow is blowing everywhere. So, tell us about the new job duties. Are you behind the scenes or behind the mike. (for us outsiders looking in)
When one door closes another opens. Good for you! As for me, I’m doing fine. Thanks for your well wishes. We always had fun, didn’t we?
Thanks Char! You know how to cheer a guy up (we all need a pick me up when it’s this cold out). I hope you are doing well.
Tim, you look so natural behind the mike! You appear to be KYMN alumni for many years already! Hope you feel at home! Congratulations!
We are very excited here at KYMN to have Tim join our staff. He brings with him expertise in sales, on-air experience, technical knowledge that will help develop our website, a commitment to community, and an intangible “karma” factor that can’t be overstated.
Myself and my staff understand that, while we are a for-profit business (at least I hope!), we have a unique responsibility to serve the community and we take that responsibility very seriously. Hiring Tim was an important step in the right direction for us.
Some shameless promotion……listen for Will Healy’s new show “The Long Way Home” Sunday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 and soon new LOCAL programming from Northfield residents Ruth Sylte and David Hvistendahl (not together). We’re working on several other local programming opportunities
and will continue to do in the future. These are in addition to our current local shows like “The Wayne Eddy Affair”, “Locally Grown”, “Art Zany with Paula Granquist”, “Kid Talk with Todd Thompson, and “KeYMN by Northfield’s Union of Youth”. I’m committed to make this truly Northfield’s station. As a businessman, it only makes good sense.
Look for good things to happen in the near future to our website, kymnradio.net, too as we continue to develop it.
Thanks for reading this, and tune into AM-1080!
