City asks for your budget suggestions

The City of Northfield added a new feature to the City website: Share your ideas about the city budget. According to City Administrator Joel Walinski’s Friday Memo of Feb. 20, the submissions will be forwarded to the City Council for review.

If you make a suggestion on the City website, please come back and tell us about it. We’d like to know what people are thinking.

  1. With the new wireless water meters being installed, install the receivers in the waste disposal, recycling, police vehicles, school buses, or other vehicles that drive about the city regularly so they pick up the readings during their normal routes and avoid the expense of the water division driving by to read the meters.

  2. “the submissions will be forwarded to the City Council for review” means exactly that: Council members have been receiving unedited comments as they are received (2 comments so far including Doug Spencer’s). Keep ’em coming.
