Bridget Sperl, proprietor of Lavender Wool, "a family owned rug hooking business in Mahtomedi, Minnesota" has become a LoGro advertiser this week, joining Northfielder Paul Krause’s Dancing Sun Multimedia in the rotation of ad banners in the upper right sidebar.

LoGro’s April web traffic surpasses all-time high by wide margin: 12,000 unique visitors

According to Google Analytics, Locally Grown’s traffic for the month of April, 2011:

12,081 Visitors
22,787 Visits
39,891 Pageviews

I was surprised when we nudged up to 10,000 unique visitors in March, as we’ve hovered between 8-9,000 for many months. So it was quite nice to see the jump to 12,000.

This month, we have a new for-profit advertiser, a new non-profit advertiser, plus one returning for-profit advertiser.

Back in March, I met and blogged about Phong Nguyen (pronounced ‘win’) and his new company, AhaDiscounts.

You can get the City Discount Card free ($10 value) until June 30. Just visit any of the participating retailers listed on the AhaDiscounts website. Phong says:

“Cardholders will save up to 50% at the point of purchase from local participating businesses.”

Glenn Switzer, Michelle Millenacker and their colleagues at the Dundas Historical Society are hosting a big community festival called Celebrate Dundas the weekend of June 26 and 27. Glenn says:

”The two-day event is reminiscent of the Dundas Sesquicentennial held in 2007. The horses, wagons and buggies will be back!”

Bill Nelson, manager of the Dundas Dukes, has a banner ad that links to their website. Their home opener vs. the Pine Island Pioneers is this Sunday, April 26. And he’s coaching the CCVL All Star team vs. the St. Paul Saints on May 3.
Deb and Leif Knecht, Knecht’s Nurseries and Landscaping, have a banner ad that links to their April Specials page where they’re offering Bonus Bucks, Bargain Corral, and a variety of web-only specials on shrubs, trees and evergreens.

ADVERTISEMENT – Two new non-profit advertisers debut on LG: Cannon River Watershed Partnership and Rice-Le Sueur Red Cross

We have our first two non-profit advertisers on Locally Grown, sharing the banner ad space on the upper left sidebar.

Lisa Carey, Community Membership and Outreach Coordinator for the Cannon River Watershed Partnership (CRWP), placed an ad that links to their home page where all their recent news items are featured, including the CRWP 2009 annual meeting on Monday, March 9th.
Karen Moldenhauer, a Northfield-based volunteer for the Rice-Le Sueur Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross, placed an ad that links to their home page where they’re promoting the Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction fundraiser on March 21.

These join our first four advertisers who signed up two weeks ago:

Norman Butler at the Contented Cow whose ad currently links to their blog where they’re promoting live music this weekend (Northwoods Eclectic and Burning Chrome) with a special deal on beer.
