A year ago, Tracy announced that we’d begun using a service called Gravatar (globally recognized avatar) that allows people who add comments here to put a face to their name.

LoGroNo (Locally Grown Northfield) traffic for December declined significantly, according to Google Analytics.
22,185 Visits; Previous: 25,918 (-14.40%)
7,545 Absolute Unique Visitors; Previous: 10,075 (-25.11%)
52,832 Pageviews; Previous; 63,137 (-16.32%)
Why the big decline? Two national/international stories back in Oct/Nov drew a huge number of new (one-time) visitors:

Back in early October, I blogged that we had a record September for unique visitors (6,921) and comments (1,211). I was expecting we’d do even better in October because of the elections, but alas, when we unveiled a new look to LoGroNo in mid-Oct, we forgot to put back the Google Analytics code that tracks [...]

We’ve got a new Locally Grown page called LG Live.
You can find it via the top nav bar (red arrow in the screenshot).
It has the Twitter badges for Bonnie, Tracy and me… regular updates on what we’re doing that’s civic-related.

We have a new Locally Grown Drop.io account (pronounced ‘drop ee oh’) that allows anyone to upload files of any kind to us.
This is particularly helpful if the files are too big for email attachments. (Files uploaded there are publicly viewable until we delete them.)

When things broke, we decided to put up a new theme for Locally Grown that we’d begun working on this past summer but never finished.
Sean Hayford O’Leary did the heavy lifting on the new theme, with some collaboration with Tracy.

LoGroNo (Locally Grown Northfield) traffic for September was up over the previous month, according to Google Analytics:
22,911 Visits; Previous: 21,680 (+5.68%)
6,921 Absolute Unique Visitors; Previous: 6,321 (+9.49%)
54,907 Pageviews; Previous: 54,748 (+0.29%)
The number of unique visitors was just shy of 7,000 for the month, our highest ever.

The Northfield News has been running this ad in the want-ad pages of their B Section recently. The ad headline reads: “Click here for Northfield’s largest online audience.” The ad copy sates that they get “…over 400,000 monthly page views.”

21,680 Visits; Previous: 23,510 (-7.78%)
6,321 Absolute Unique Visitors; Previous: 6,555 (-3.57%)
54,748 Pageviews; Previous: 62,071 (-11.80%)
Traffic was 85-95% higher than August of 2007.

Visits: 23,510. Previous: 21,788 (+7.90%)
Absolute Unique Visitors: 6,555. Previous: 6,556 (-0.02%)
Pageviews: 62,071. Previous: 56,099 (+10.65%)
Those are all-time highs for visits and pageviews. All-time high for unique visitors was 6,927 in April.
