I stopped by the Northfield Beef O’Brady’s on Thursday night to check in on Northfield Skating School’s Olympics party that Director Carey Tinkelenberg had organized. I was a bit late and most of the younger skaters had gone home already but the older group posed for this photo with Carey.
Next Wed. March 3, NSS is hosting a hosting a fundraiser at Northfield Culver’s.
FYI, the home page of the Northfield Skating School (NSS) website is a blog.

The Red Cross bloodmobile is at Culver’s today, 9-2pm. And the Nothfield Ballroom is hosting a blood donation center from 1-7pm.

Culver’s has put out new picnic tables, evidently hoping to coax some warmth from the deceptively sunny skies the past couple of days. We can’t seem to get out of the 30s very often, let alone the 40s. (Check the data.) Aren’t there some weather gods we can pray to?

My wife Robbie and I made our first visit to the Northfield Culver’s last week and met the franchise owners, Tom Zenk and Julie Zenk. I don’t write restaurant reviews but I was impressed by two things: 1) Tom’s Looney Tunes tie; and 2) that they had a bloodmobile drive card (coming Feb. 27, 8am-1pm) on every table. See my previous blog post on the conversion of Southgate Theater to Culver’s. Here are two more photos of the new interior.
