Be thankful for coffee and free wi-fi

James Gang Coffeehouse & Eatery Two of Northfield’s coffeehouses are open this Thanksgiving morning. I’m blogging this from one in my neighborhood, the James Gang Coffeehouse & Eatery (the only coffeehouse in town with a drive-thru), open till noon.  Caribou Coffee is also open but I’m not sure what their hours are today.

Yes, it’s old news but Monday’s Northfield City Council work session was the first time I actually brought devices to the Council chambers and used the open wi-fi connection. Nice. Thank you Melissa Reeder!

Why not promote Northfield’s pervasiveness of free wi-fi?

I spotted this wireless access sign last week when I was in Grand Rapids, MN. It’s on Hwy 169 over the Mississippi River bridge, as you approach the Blandin Foundation offices prior to the intersection with Hwy 2. It points to the Grand Rapids Area Library where there’s free wi-fi. I think it would be helpful to have some similar signs at strategic intersections in Northfield. (continued)
