A supermercado called La Eskina has replaced the Dundas Corner Mart on Hwy 3 just south of the Frandsen Bank. The signs say “Bakery, hot deli, meat market, fresh guacamole, tacos, fresh pico de gallo, breakfast tacos, tamales, burritos.”

I have to check this out. I’m a big fan of La Vencedora, but I’m always on the lookout for more options for good tacos and tamales.

As a Spanish teacher, I wonder about the spelling “Eskina,” since “Esquina” is the word for “Corner.” A gringo-ization, perhaps?
