My daughter Gilly has pressured me into this announcement since she’s performing. From this week’s Northfield News, titled Among Friends:
Participants in the Northfield Union of Youth’s Writing Workshop will share their original works with the public in a free reading titled “Excerpts from the Life of a Perkins Dish Boy” at 6 p.m. May 19 at the Key, 303 S. Water St. The reading will showcase a variety of voices and content.
L to R (photo taken at Carleton a month or so ago, click to enlarge): Kristin Ginger (writing coach); Marie Fischer, Schuyler Huber, Jena Fredrick and Max Jennings. The poster (click to enlarge) was created and blogged by Marie Fischer.
Here are a couple dozen photos from the 2004 performance.

Having been on the Key Adult Board for some years now, I have been to other readings from the Writing Workshop, and I would urge those who are interested in developing writers and what some of the youth in Northfield are thinking about, to attend.
The writing is good, sometimes very good, and the thoughts are really insightful. People who are concerned about our youth should support this, and get some insight, by attending and talking to the kids afterwords.
By the way, take the opportunity to see what a serious place the Key is, and how important it is to all sorts of different groups of kids.
Give them a donation while you’re there, too!
Hey, sorry about the multiple typos; the comment box was half hidden under the two-tone brown column to the right and I couldn’t get it out of there!
Help, Griff!
All fixed, Kiffi.
