Ross has been posting to the NDDC blog all year (eg, here, here and here) about the Downtown Holiday Decorations Fund and yesterday, the decorations (blue banners and lighted snowflakes) were put up all over downtown — big ones on the bigger light poles, smaller ones on the historic light poles. I’ll try to get some nighttime photos this weekend.
Update 11/21: As promised, some night shots:
Hey Griff, thanks for the call-out. This has been an incredible example of the power of collaboration. In this case, it’s been the NDDC, the Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Northfield.
I really need to recognize three individuals who have worked on this, literally, for years. Pat Vincent started BACK WHEN she was the Chamber President, Joel Walinski started BACK WHEN he was Operations Manager, and Dan Bergeson started BACK WHEN he said “I’m going to get new holiday decorations or I’m going to die trying”.
Thanks to you three, and thanks to all the many, many people, local business owners, charitable foundations, and passionate private citizens, who made the necessary financial contributions to allow us to realize this vision.
THANK YOU EVERYONE! They look great!
Tim Freeland has a great photo of the decorations on the KYMN blog: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
