Gus (August) DeMann, Dundas, ran the 2010 Grandma’s Marathon in 3 hours 1 minute last weekend, faster than anyone in the area (Dundas, Northfield, and who knows how many townships.)
I caught him running behind the counter at GBM this morning.

I couldn’t be more proud! And later the same day he walked up 9 flights of stairs BY CHOICE! (Any of you runners know how even stepping down off the curb hurts!)
Known Gus for a long time…. Key and elsewhere… not only fastest, but one of the ‘Bestest’, and a gentlemanly fellow to boot!

Congrats to Gus!!! Awesome achievement!! A feat more difficult, I think, than most of us realize. Credit goes to Mom and Dad too, who set good examples for him. Thankfully, my own kids did not follow my example. If they had, they’d all be walking around like ducks.
