Help the Dundas Dukes clean up Memorial Park on Saturday, Oct 9

Flooded Memorial Park, Dundas, MN I took this aerial photo of Memorial Park in Dundas during the Sept. flooding.  It’s the home park for the Dundas Dukes Class B amateur baseball club.

(Someone has posted six more photos of the flooded field in an album on the Dukes’ Facebook page.)

I got this email from former Dundas Dukes manager Bill Nelson earlier this week:

Bill NelsonAs you know, the Dundas baseball field flooded the week of September 23rd. I just looked at the damage over the weekend and it was even more extensive than we thought.  There is much fence damage and debris is everywhere.

We are having a clean-up day on Saturday, October 9th.  It starts at 9 am and will go throughout the day.  So if you can’t be there right away feel free to come anytime that you can make it.  We will have some food and drink there for all volunteers.

There is a lot of work to be done and we can use the help of any and everyone.  Please bring rakes and dress for work (long pants and gloves, maybe even a hat).  Bring friends, family and other of the Dukes’ faithful.

The Dundas Dukes call for your help.   Let’s get the Duke Pride going and get the park in great shape again.

I went out to take some photos of the damage on Tuesday night. Bill was there with Ken Sargent, cleaning out the supply shed.
