A couple of people have alerted me to an attractive new blog in town called Northfield Artists.
This blog is dedicated to artists who are residents of Northfield, Minnesota and/or graduates of Northfield High School.
The blog doesn’t have an About page, the blog posts don’t have a person’s name attached, it’s not aggregated by the Northfield.org, and they don’t have a Facebook page. They are on Twitter, however.
Who’s doing this?
Every blog post is done by someone named “prayer bedes.” Happens to be the name of a business by another area artist, Christine Stanton. Whomever is doing it, it’s quite attractive.
Beautiful, in fact!
My husband just came home for lunch to tell me that I needed to respond to this post. Yes, this is one of my blogs. It is something I have been thinking of doing for quite awhile and finally decided to just do it.
I am a lifelong resident of Northfield and local artist and designer. (That makes me sound more special than I actually am.) Knowing that our little town of Northfield shelters and has given birth to some amazing artists, I knew it would be easy to come up with the content for the blog. Plus, there does not seem to be one organization or place on the internet that tells the story of these amazing people.
This blog is not meant to be any kind of a business venture or a place to compete with the organizations we already have in Northfield for the arts. Rather, it is a something I am doing for my own enjoyment and love of the arts and hopefully the enjoyment of others as well. Included in that, I hope to inclusively highlight the organizations supporting artists in Northfield.
If you have a local artist that you would like to see featured, let me know. You can email me @ northfieldartists@gmail.com.
P.S. I have the blog linked to a facebook page too.
