I took photos this afternoon of the Northfield Ballroom Dance Club‘s Youth Formation Team practicing their routines. The group is hosting a fundraiser spaghetti dinner and dance show tomorrow, Thursday, March 10 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Northfield Ballroom (details here on Northfield.org), as they’ve been invited by dancer and choreographer, Melanie LaPatin, to perform in New York in April.
Club founder Leisa Irwin wrote in a Facebook Group Note: Amazing Adventure for an Awesome Group of Kids:
And so, this team, these young people, will be performing at the Kaye Playhouse in New York on April 10th with some of the most amazing dancers in New York – and even in the country.
The routine is based on a theme – ICONS – and the icon they have chosen is John Travolta. Their dance is a combination of styles, using a montage of songs, that includes Foxtrot, Cha Cha, and East Coast Swing.
