As per our instructions for Three ways to get an announcement posted on Locally Grown (in this case, "Arrange for a photo opp"), Bridgewater Township resident and National Weather Service hydrologist Anne Sawyer stopped by my GBM office last week.
Ever faux-savvy, she pretended to have a flyer (emailed to me later) promoting a Dundas Farmers Market informational meeting (PDF) at Mill Park in Dundas coming up on Tuesday, May 10th at 7pm.
Visit the Dundas Farmers Market Facebook page for more.
Here’s your friendly reminder that our informational meeting for vendors is tomorrow night at 7PM in Mill Park. It might even be nice out!
We’re excited to bring the Dundas Farmers Market back for its second season. We believe that having more offerings of fresh local food is better for the community than fewer opportunities for fresh local food! We hope to attract any and all vendors but want to extend a special invitation to folks who are just starting out and may not have the experience or quantities necessary to sell at the larger markets in town.
As for the rest of you, we hope you’ll make the trek to Dundas to check out our friendly little market with a surprisingly large selection! We’re starting on Saturday, May 21st at 9am. It’s a great bike ride to Dundas via the Mill Towns Trail – get some exercise AND get your veggies!
Looking forward to another great market day in Dundas! This week we’ll have greens, radishes, rhubarb, baked goods, jams, lots of vegetable plants (heirlooms and standard varieties grown in organic potting soil), herb plants, fresh herbs, perhaps some fresh-baked bread and who knows what else!! Saturday, 9-noon, Mill Park!
The Dundas Farmers Market is pleased to announce our Second Annual Vendor Information Meeting, to be held at 7PM on Tuesday, April 10, at Mill Park in Dundas, rain or shine. See attached flyer for details.
We had a GREAT market last year, and we’re getting excited to start again in May. We have a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for our vendors. We expect all of last year’s vendors to return this year – they really enjoyed selling in Dundas! It’s a fabulous little market (with easy access for both vendors and customers)!
Please spread the word – we truly believe that more opportunities for local food make for stronger communities. We want to extend special encouragement to those who are just starting out – folks who may want to “test the waters” of being a market vendor. We have low vendor fees and very straightforward, easy-to-follow rules based on state guidelines.
The Market will start in Mid-May and go through early October. Our hours are 9-noon, Saturday mornings, at Mill Park.
Here’s a partial list of what we plan to offer this year:
Fruits
Veggies
Fresh breads
Baked goods
Jams/jellies
Canned goods
Crafts
Perennials
Seedlings
Herbs (plants and fresh cut)
