Strib columnist Sid Hartman writes today:
Former Gopher Mark Setterstrom, who sat out the first 10 games with the Rams, has developed into a left guard with a great future and has started the past five games.
In case you’ve been asleep for the past decade, Mark grew up here in Northfield, played high school football here before playing college football for the U of M Gophers (click photo to enlarge). His Rams page is here and he’s got a small Wikipedia entry here.
Has there ever been a Northfielder who has started games as a professional football player before? How about other major pro sports?
And where the heck is the Northfield Sports Hall of Fame website, anyway?
The Vikings really do suck big time. As I said in a recent NDDC post (http://nddc.org/weblogs/homepageblog/archives/000539.html),
the Northfield Raiders could beat them on Memorial Field (and maybe the Dome too). So, yeah, go Setterstrom!
I’ve heard from unbiased sources that it just hasn’t been the same since Charlie Benson graduated.
I’m being facetious of course, I’m sure they’ve managed to find an adequate replacement by now 😉 Go Raiders!
Go Wolves! And take the Vikings with you!
