Yesterday, I took the photo on the left of Mary Rossing, proprietor of Present Perfect, holding up the number ten in her store. I’ve taken more than a few photos of her picturesque store over these ten years. Click to enlarge.
A few select people (those living in the western hemisphere) are invited to a birthday celebration, coming up at undisclosed location which she’s promised to reveal here Real Soon Now.
Thanks Griff!
Yes, it’s hard to believe, but my business is really 10 years old. There is a party in the works with good music, adult beverages, good friends, and birthday cake. Stay tuned.
Mary
Okay, Mary, but I’m not sure parties with adult movies and women emerging from birthday cakes are allowed on Division St., are they?
Uh Griff, didn’t you get the e-mail from Krin?
…YOU’RE stepping out of Mary’s cake…
…clearly you didn’t read the fine print in the Shop Local Boys contract.
This is going to be great–I’ll start baking!
…and now something lighter for you all to consider. Present Perfect is indeed planning a party to mark its 10th anniversary. Here’s the scoop; Come one and come all (ok, only the fun people):
Friday November 30th from 7-11 p.m. at the Upstairs Rueb-n-stein (503 Division St. in downtown Northfield) The Zillionaires will be playing (many of you know Wendy Smith and Dave Drentlaw from Northfield) from 7:30-10:30 and there will be dancing, cake and adult beverages. No cover charge, but bring a couple of dollars for the band’s bucket.
Book the babysitter this weekend or get the relatives to agree while you’re holding them hostage over pumpkin pie, and stop in to Present Perfect in the mean time to say hi, or to get the ruling as to whether you’re a fun person…that’s Present Perfect at 419 Division Street in downtown Northfield–“where the fun stuff is!”
A reminder: Mary’s party’s tonight. Alas, I won’t be there emerging naked from her birthday cake. I got a better offer in Minot, ND this weekend. Someone please take photos!
Griff –
Well, it’s perhaps not an adequate substitute to your naked cake jumping but there will be free Zillionaire dancing…
