Canadians get Violent over Book Prices

rowdy_canadians.jpgI didn’t believe it either. I mean we’re not talkin’ hockey here.

But check it out for yourself at the Globe and Mail.

Apparently with the rise of the Loonie, the typically good-natured and peace loving Canadians have had it with inflated book prices.

They’re turning books into projectiles and even drawing blood over the issue.

I haven’t shipped an order to Canada in 2 weeks.

Apparently, the backlog of packages stuck in customs is huge.

maybe I should advertise “Monkeys love Loonies”

What is interesting to me is that this picture is taken on Boulevard Rene Levesque (re-named for the father of the Quebec separation movement in the 70’s) in the heart of downtown Montreal…and all those flags are Canadian flags and not Quebec flags. Truly unusual. See, there’s nothing like arts and cultural issues for uniting a country! Or (and here’s the Northfield connection) a community like ours!
