From the City’s website:
An open house will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 801 Washington Street, Northfield, MN, to review and gather public input on a proposed concept for a transit hub/multi modal facility. Northfield Transit received earmarked facility funds for a transit hub through the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) 5309 capital program. The total grant amount is for $346,500, $277,200 federal apportionment with a required 20% local share match of $69,300.
The proposed project concept is a multi modal transit hub to serve as transit hub/transfer station, park & ride location, intercity hub, and trailhead. The project is proposed to be located in Laurel Court. This location is near the intersection of Highway #3 & Highway #19 in Northfield. The location provides connections to Mill Towns State Trail, bike paths, and sidewalks providing interconnectivity throughout the community.
I do believe the transit hub will look something like this sketch but probably scaled back a tad.
