Andrea Een is one of my regular GBM window office colleagues.
She’s an Norwegian-American Hardanger fiddler (her website), an Associate Professor of Music (violin and viola) at St. Olaf, and one of the (many?) people in town with a Wikipedia entry.
(She’s also the mother of Jonathan Een Newton who’s a 2007-08 Northfield Rotary Outbound student. I took the photo on the left of her this summer with a pine tree, given to all outbound students’ parents by Rick Estenson and Kris Estenson. The idea is to give the parents something to nurture while their kids are away. The prickly pine needles add to the symbolism.)
She alerted me to the Norsk Julegudstjeneste (Norwegian Christmas Church Service) at Boe Memorial Chapel on Tuesday morning. Click photos to enlarge.
