  1. My pick for D2 by far would be Malecha; Doran-Norton for D1.

I will give Jeff Quinnell credit for a very attractive website, but some of the copy is downright bizarre:

Jeff Quinnell, whose term on the Northfield School Board ends this year, has filed to run for District 2, according to the Northfield News.

Is this not his campaign website? Why would he cite the Northfield News citing himself?

Thanks for pointing that out, Sean. That’s actually funny. And revealing.

I am voting for Kathleen Doran-Norton. She has been a dedicated, hard-working supervisor for Bridgewater Township. This experience makes her an excellent candidate for Rice County Commissioner. Kathleen has dealt with difficult township issues–even voting to assume the responsibility of planning and zoning on behalf of her constituents. I have seen her in action listening to all sides with an open mind and carefully researching all angles with a bright mind. Her work experience at St. Olaf will be a big plus when the county deals with administrative and computer issues. Kathleen also knows how to partner with diverse people and get things done, as I have witnessed on the Rice Creek project.

Kathleen has a blog post up titled Not right or left – local! that includes this blurb and video:

I know there are high school students volunteering as election judges, staffing phone banks, walking or riding with candidates as they meet with people all across our community. Hats off to our young people and their participation in democracy!

Here’s the work of three Northfield High School students, Chen Ye, Nathan Dahlen, and Logan Regnier, who created a campaign video. Take a look at their creative work!
