Hwy 3 bridge over the Cannon River: what’s happening here?
I took these photos at about 9:30 this morning of a construction crew working adjacent to the Hwy 3 bridge over the Cannon River, just south of Walgreen’s . Guess what’s going on?
Could be work associated with the fiber that is going to serve Dundas and the rest of the rural areas south of Northfield (e.g., Circle Lake). I hope they are aware of the planned upgrade to this bridge which will close the bridge for part of 2008. I have to catch a bus, so someone else could search MnDoT for the definitive word on that project.

Bruce you are partially right; I think they are working on putting in sewer lines that collect the “fiber” from Dundas and deliver it to the Northfield treatment plant north of town. And Gabriel is right also, as the lines are in conjunction with the Mill Towns Trail bridge crossing.
They are running some pipes underground. I can’t remember why but I am pretty sure that is what they are doing.
A longshot hope is that they’re working on the Mill Towns Trail! Right, Griff? Don’t let me down!
Have they given up in the “bridge over troubled waters” and decided instead to just dam up the water?

Northfield continues to take shit from Dundas. What else is new?
