Kettlebells are coming to town

Gretchen Falck Forza! For a Fit Life studio
I stopped by Gretchen Falck’s new Forza! For a Fit Life studio (on Professional Drive behind the Woodley St. car wash near Casey’s) yesterday as carpet was being laid in anticipation of Saturday’s 1 pm open house. Twin Cities-based kettlebell instructor Ron Morris will present at 1:30.

Ray Cox wrote about Forza on his Northfield Construction blog, Ellen Iverson blogged it on, and Craig Green wrote about it in a Northfield News article last week titled: New studio teaches ancient Russian workout.

A kettlebell is a cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. With its history going back to 18th-century Russians preparing for Olympic games and Russian special forces, the kettlebell is used for strength, agility and endurance.

I’ve assumed so, Tony, but the kettlebell training is evidently wrapped around Ron Morris’ philosophy of fitness. I guess we’ll soon find out.
