Robbie and I stopped by the ArtOnWater gallery last night for the weekly ‘ChARTdonnay Thursday’ hosted by Dean Kjerland. He’s currently displaying works by Holmquist Pottery (Northfielders Chris and Sue Holmquist) and 3-D paintings by Laura Meddaugh. Click thumbnails to enlarge.
Dean: Congratulations on yet another beautiful show. You continue to put up one fascinating show after another; how do you do it?
It’s precisely this sort of dedication that WILL make an “Arts Town” out of Northfield (not that we aren’t already)…….but these small galleries, like Art on Water and Grezzo, need all the support we can give them.
I know it’s beastly cold Minnesota, but I hope everyone will get out there to see this show. Let those deep red walls warm you up!
Yeah, I’ve already given testimony as to the greatest of this exhibit:

Check it out!
That gallery is a perfect space for the works of the two artists, whose works seem to complement one another. At the Saturday evening opening last week, I enjoyed the chance to talk with the Holmquists and Laura Meddaugh to learn more about their techniques. Kudos to Dean for bringing beauty and energy to Water Street!
