Longtime Northfielder Scott Richardson was informed earlier this afternoon that he’s the the 2008 recipient of the Joseph Lee Heywood Distinguished Service Award. The award “… is given to a Northfield citizen who exemplifies the commitment to public service which Joseph Lee Heywood lived and died for.”
DJJD Chair Brad Ness made the announcement at the Northfield Hospital where Scott works.
Scott will be honored at the Defeat of Jesse James Days Heywood Award Dinner in September.

Congratulations to Scott….a workhorse for the community. The only thing that could make it better for me would be if my mother Marjorie was here to see it. She and Scott worked at the News in ‘the good old days’ . Coming from different political persuasions, she always did her best to ‘convert’ him—didn’t work—but thoroughly enjoyed Scott.
Congrats Scott!!
Now you’ll really be intolerable at work!!
Again Congrats!
Congratulations, Scott!
Congratulations to Scott and to the Committee for selecting such a wonderful person in our community. Scott and others helped coin the phrase “community assets” and now it is terrific and so deserving to have him recognized as one!
