I stopped by 2 of the 21 sites this morning to take some photos.

Site #15 at 1001 Prairie Street included “… donations to sell from more than 10 local households” to raise money for the Northfield Skateboard Coalition. The sale continues through 2 pm today.

Site #17 at the Estenson Farm at 10541 Ibson Ave. included “… Tons of Recycled community goods. Great stuff recycled from community clean-up day” to raise money for the Northfield High School Environmental Club. The sale continues through 5 pm today.

IMG_4218 5th Bridge took out this two-page ad in the Wed. Northfield News.

It reads in part:

“5th Bridge salutes the 1,057 individuals who have taken the Utter Joy pledge and promised at least five hours of service each month.”

Wow, what a garage sale weekend the good people of 5th Bridge organized! The Northfield Skateboard Coalition raised over $300 at our address alone to go toward the construction of the new Skate Plaza – with many community members donating above and beyond the cost of their purchases. Several other garage sale supporters are also donating their garage sale proceeds to the hard-working, ever-persistent Skateboard Coalition’s efforts. Thanks for stopping by and cheering us on, Griff!

Hi Griff— I thought I should just let you know that when it was all said, done and totaled up, the Skateboard Coalition youth discovered that they had made over $1100 this weekend at the 5th Bridge garage sale event! When I reported that I thought it was about $300, I must have been delusional. The kids sold everything from pet bunnies to church pews to sports equipment. Thank you to the three families who donated their proceeds to the Skater’s fundraiser! Thank you 5th Bridge! And, thank you caring friends, neighbors, and supporters of these young people who have really tried to work through the system to get what they believe this community needs– a Skate Plaza.
