Yesterday was the second (and last) of the annual spring cleanup days in which Northfield residents could bring items for the landfill to Waste Management to haul away for free.
Environmental Quality Commission member Suzie Nakasian (left photo in yellow raincoat) and a group of volunteers were quizzing the driver of every vehicle pulling into the dropoff area, asking them if they had anything that could be recycled/reused. Items intercepted were then transported to the Northfield High School Environmental Club’s fundraising garage sale at the Estenson farm (see yesterday’s blog post).
