Drive-through coffee window soon ready at the James Gang Coffeehouse

James Gang CoffeehouseCoffee and related concoctions will soon be available via a drive-up window at the James Gang Coffeehouse & Eatery.

I noticed yesterday that the one-way traffic flow markers had been painted, the ordering sign was up, and the drive-up window was being worked on.

Owner Melanie Ewald said she hoped all would be ready in two weeks or less. Their outdoor patio opened late yesterday.

Now if we could just get them to open at 5:45, our vanpool would be all over this! 😎

  3. I’ve got to say I was really annoyed by this window. Work was disruptive and being done during business hours. That might be inevitable, but what good does this window bring? The building is surrounded by parking lot on all four sides — I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask people to walk ten feet from their car into the shop.

If the new owners want to improve the store, might I suggest a bike rack? It’s really awkward to tie a bike to a street light post, and there are only a few trees substantial enough to use. The new owners have clearly shown an interest in sustainability with the bioplastic drink containers they’ve been using lately; better encouraging low-impact transportation is a logical next step.

I also find it really frustrating that there is also no sidewalk access to the building (though this is the fault of landlord Jasnoch Construction, not James Gang).

Julie, Thanks! You will most certainly see us at The Cow!

John, As someone who often leaves town before 6am, I completely understand! You will likely see drive thru hours changing to accommodate the early-early bird crowd. I will post updates here.

Sean, Thanks for the feedback. We would have much preferred overnight construction, but it just isn’t an option. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience construction caused you and our other customers. I know it was at times loud and disruptive.

Thanks for recognizing our sustainability efforts. Our construction plans also include a bike rack which will be added soon.

Parking is close and convenient, as you mention, but many customers have been asking for the added convenience of a drive thru. We are very excited at the opportunity to offer this service.

Great! It’s hard dragging our toddler in and out of the carseat in the middle of winter, actually everything is so much more difficult in winter. So, thanks for making our lives a little bit easier.
