GBM: Nobody goes there no more, it’s too crowded

  1. Hey, thanks for remembering this Yogi-ism. I had lunch with Yogi Berra in New Jersey some years ago when I was a research assistant to “Boys of Summer” author Roger Kahn, and I found Yogi to be a delightful man, though I have no bon mots to recall. He did warn me never to marry a baseball player, though (I was already married to a chemist).

It’s not a new problem, is it? Our first trip to GBM was on a Saturday morning, before even moving to town. We saw the crowd, saw the back staircase, and went up it – hoping that it led to another room of seating.
