Preserve Northfield, Preserve America

There’s a Preserve America sign at the southwest end of the 5th St. Bridge, designating Northfield as a Preserve America community. We’re one of 9 Minnesota cities designated, though the profile of Northfield is not yet up on their website. (Red Wing’s is, however.)

This was evidently an initiative by the City of Northfield’s Heritage Preservation Commission because I see references to “Review Preserve America Communities application” in their minutes (example, here). But I can’t find any announcement about it. I guess it’s a secret.
