Business Networking: Northfield Group on LinkedIn

LoGro regular and former City Councillor David Koenig recently launched a Northfield group on the business networking site, LinkedIn.

I’m interested in seeing how people use various websites and technologies in both business and social networking, so I joined. This group membership is open to all, so if you’re on LinkedIn, please join. If you don’t use LinkedIn, check it out and see if it might work for you.

What is linkedin and what are the benefits of joining? I was getting requests to join from someone I did not know. I thought it was spam and deleted it. can you browse first or do you have to join?

Jerry, LinkedIn is designed for business networking, and I’ve found it useful for referrals and contacts in advertising, design, publishing, various consultants, etc.

Maybe they have a group for independent bookstore owners… or maybe you can start one. You should be able to browse the site in a limited way (i.e., without access to full details on individuals’ profile pages) to get some idea. Like other media of this type, it becomes more useful the more you use it.

Yes, it’s an excellent way to get back in touch with old work colleagues or friends from school too.

I thought it would be nice for people in Northfield to get to know each other’s professional interests in addition to what we see on LoGroNo. You never know what kind of mutual connections or interest you have with those nearby!

If you are a LinkedIn member, you can click here to find out all of the people near to Northfield with whom you share a connection.
