City Administrator’s Friday Memo for January 30

Joel-WalinskiThe Friday Memo, written by interim Northfield City Administrator Joel Walinski and many of the department directors, managers, and supervisors, summarizes many of the staff activities for the week. Although it’s directed to the mayor and city council, it’s helpful for citizens to see what’s going, too.

fridaymemothumbThe Friday memos are published and archived in PDF form at the bottom of Joel Walinski’s web page. See the Friday memo for this past week and then comment or ask questions about it here. This week’s memo contains much ado about taxes, due to significant anticipated reductions in aid from the State of MN.

Looks like the City changed the name of the file since I made the post. It’s working now.

Friday Report says there is a meeting w/MNDOT this week to go over concept drawing for the Gill/Prawer 475-acre industrial park between the creeks in Bridgewater Township. $12,000 has already been spent by Northfield EDA and landowners on the drawings.

Why hasn’t Northfield News or Locally Grown posted them for public review? Why are City staff moving forward without providing Council members with the annexation map that shows this proposal cannot fly without major amendments which the majority on our township board have not agreed to consider?
