I noticed this banner above an empty Heritage Square storefront yesterday. “Coming soon. Northfield Urgent Care.”
Anyone know which chain will open here and who the local owner is?
Some Target stores now have clinics, though not yet Northfield Target. Minnesota-founded Minute Clinic has locations in Apple Valley and Lakeville.
How is “walk in” or “urgent care” defined and what are the typical non-emergencies treated at these facilities? The Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) maintains a consumer website called Find Urgent Care that answers those questions. See the Wikidpedia entry for ‘urgent care’ for more.
They have job postings. For example:
http://www.medhunters.com/job/920180.html
They have a domain: http://northfieldurgentcare.com . The email address in the job postings is kevin@, if that’s a hint to anyone. There’s no real content on the site yet and the domain registration just has their IT guy’s information.
One of the job postings says it’s an “Independent, physician owned practice” so it doesn’t appear to be affiliated with any of the chains.
I can put some of these questions to rest since I am the local owner. Northfield Urgent Care, LLC is an independent physician owned walk-in clinic specializing in treatment of acute illnesses such as sore throats, coughs, sprains, fractures, lacerations, infections and so on. We will offer treatment of work injuries as well on on site pharmaceuticals.
We will be open 7 days per week with evening and weekend hours. Open for business April 13. Hope that helps!
