Northfield newcomers: Pete Schleif and family

A year ago we got an email from a teacher in Winona that read:

My wife and I are hoping to move to Northfield this summer. I’d like to thank you for Locally Grown, as it has been a great way for me to keep up on the goings-on there.

Peter Schleif That teacher stopped by my corner office at the GBM this morning and introduced himself: Peter Schleif and family are now Northfielders. They picked Northfield as the place they wanted to live and then began to hunt for jobs once they got here.

Pete’s the choir director at Kenyon-Wanamingo Senior High School and his wife is an online math teacher. They have an 18-month old boy. Pete’s sister and family live here, too, and the grandparents are in the southern suburbs.  Welcome, Pete!

  1. Pete, Welcome to Northfield. KW is a wonderful school district! I hope you enjoy it! I am a little biased as I graduated from KW in ’01.

If you want to know anything about the history of Northfield, give us a call at the Northfield Historical Society.

Thanks Griff. Lori and I have found Northfield to be everything we had hoped: Great civic involvement, vibrant local discussions, wonderful schools and proximity to family as well as the Metro. Hayes, you are right, KW is a wonderful district. Solid kids and great teachers. I’ll tell everyone here hello from you.
