This week’s announcement of the Google Living Stories Project (NY Times: Google Unveils News-by-Topic Service) presents the opportunity for us to use the tool to track the Copenhagen conference on climate change and discuss it here.
It’s 6:10am as I’m typing this in my corner office at the Goodbye Blue Monday coffeehouse with a hot cup of coffee. It was tricky getting out of my driveway…
It’s a little known fact that the Northfield Arts Guild Festival of Wreaths (last year it was trees) is a competition, not just an auction/fundraiser. This year’s winner: the donut…

We occasionally blog about non-local issues here on LoGroNo, as we’ve learned that many of our site visitors like to discuss them A) with local people/those they know; and B) in a climate of civility that exists here in part because of our Discussion Guidelines that we enforce.

LoGroNo (Locally Grown Northfield) traffic for November was both up and down from September, according to Google Analytics:
- 8,547 Absolute Unique Visitors: Previous: 8,334 (+2.56%)
- 18,242 Visits: Previous: 19,222 (-5.10%)
- 37,128 Pageviews: Previous: 41,502 (-10.54%)
That’s our second-highest ever for site visitors, eclipsed only by Nov. 2008 (election year).
Dynamic Design Landscaping has donated a lighted Xmas tree on Bridge Square. Evidently part of the deal allows the placement of a large sandwich board next to the tree that advertises their Xmas tree lot on South Highway 3. This seems a bit much to me and with its placement next to the big Northfield Area United Way thermometer, makes Bridge Square look cluttered.
