Our guest yesterday was Hayes Scriven, Executive Director of the Northfield Historical Society. He’s leading a group of Northfield institutions (so far, they’re collaborating) that’s creating an audio walking tour of historical Northfield using some new-fangled technology called podcasting. In true Jesse James fashion, he stole the idea from New Ulm and their video podcast.

The editorial in yesterday’s StarTribune was titled: Unearned black eye for biodiesel fuel: It wasn’t the culprit in Bloomington bus problems. The unnamed editorial writers (don’t get me started on that tradition) rightfully spanked Fox TV commentator Glenn Beck for his bombastic comments but as I read it, I kept waiting for a mea culpa since their mid-January cold snap news reports (here, here, here, and here) surely helped contribute to the ‘unearned black eye.’ (continued)

Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln were both born this day, 200 years ago. Tickets for Northfield High School’s Rock ‘n Roll Revival VIII go on sale today at the Community Services Division office in the NCRC. (It would be nice if A) the event had its own web site; and B) tickets could be ordered online.) The District’s web site says:
